Today is a dark snowy day in the small seaside town of Sidney. I am here to help the store through the Christmas rush as well as entry the inventory(which seems to change itself whenever you blink) on to our Website that you see here.

So two days ago I finished the first of the Blue Bloods series. Normally I find it hard to get sleep when I am reading a book( due to the fact that I don't know when to put it down most nights). I now find myself in a even worse predicament.

You see every time I go out of town i bring enough books and knitting to sink a ship. This time the knitting is not an issue but the books are. To my disbelief I have finished all the books that I brought along. You would probably think this would mean that i would finally get some sleep, but on the contrary I am now getting no sleep at all. To my relief  salvation has come  in the form of a second hand book store (something this town has no shortage of). I have just got a book called "The Summoning" ,a book about a girl who sees ghosts, as well as its sequel.

I can now breathe a sigh of relief that I have lots of knitting and two good book the keep me company (which might come in handy seeing the weather man said that we are going to get 10cm of snow fall, which to those of us that have ever lived anywhere in the midwest (or experienced winter like those of the midwest ) this might not seem like a whole lot. But to the people of Vancouver Island this might be reason to not leave there homes.

So with that i hope everyone safe travels during this holiday season and if your just staying at home a simple happy knitting.

Stitches and Stakes is about two of the great loves of my life, knitting and everything about vampires  that I can get my hands on.

I have been knitting since I was 6 years old and have had a love affair with the creatures of the night for about the same amount of time. My doctor might call it insomnia, but I prefer to call it a fascination with the night. I know what you are thinking... these things have nothing to do with each other, but I find that they interact in my life on a daily basis. I have made designs inspired by characters in vampire literature and I have been know to hide the latest vampire novel under my knitting while working at the store, as well as been caught knitting at all hours of the night.

Though I spent my teen years hiding these from my friends and family to protect my reputation, I am happy to say that the times have changed and it is no longer strange or odd to be interested in either. These days you tell someone you knit or you like vampires and they get a shocked look on their face which is followed by their excitement that the found someone like them.

So  I have decided to blog about that which I am passionate about, in hopes of connecting with others like me, as well as discovering the passions of others.
